MARIE ROSSIGNOL VON WALDNER

Marie Rossignol Von Waldner, age 88. passed away peacefully, on Thursday, July 12, 2007, in the excellent care of the Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation in Richmond Hill, Georgia. She was formerly in the loving care of G.W. Personal Care Home in Savannah, Georgia for many years.
Marie was born in Savannah, Georgia and resided there until shortly before her death. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church for most of her life. Marie worked for 25 years as a school bus driver for the Chatham County Board of Education.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John A. Von Waldner, her parents, Annie B. and William E. Rossignol and her grandson, Michael A. Smith.

Surviving are four daughters, Elaine V. Smith of Richmond Hill, GA, Madeline V. Cetti of Midway, GA, Anna V. Smith of St. Clair Shores, MI, Marilyn R. Von Waldner of Portland, OR, her sister, Betty R. Vereen of Garden City, GA, nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. with Father Joseph Smith officiating.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 10: 30 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 10550 Ford Avenue Highway 144, in Richmond Hill, Georgia with Father Joseph Smith, Celebrant.

There will be a reception immediately following the Mass in the Holy Family Hall at St. Anne’s. At 1 p.m. the family will proceed to Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah for burial at approximately 1:45 p.m.

Pallbearers will be, Billy Smith, Pat Cetti, Bubba Smith, John Cetti, Tom Cetti and Brian Cetti.

The family requests that remembrances be sent to G.W. Personal Care Home, 5208 Abercorn St., Savannah, GA, 31405 or Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA. 31416.

The Family would like to extend thanks to all who prayed for and cared for Marie and her family, as she progressed through her Alzheimer’s disease.
